Fry Nursery Workshop Schedule 2011

The dates are set, the speakers have confirmed and the following assortment of topics, promise to float the most discriminating boat. Raised bed veggie production for small areas

10 am with Diane Almond       ‘What’s the Buzz’

Hear the latest on the honeybee crisis and gain important information on our native honeybees. Learn how to make your garden pollinator, friendly with the use of proper plants.

11am with Mike Somich         ‘ Shiitake Mushroom Production, 101’

Find out what you need and observe the how-to for successful mushroom production.

April 9 – Plants & Habitats

11am with Lee Sherrill of Pisgah Center for Wildlife Habitat

‘Create a Wildlife Habitat in Your Back Yard’

Lee will discuss the methodology of habitat creation and the plant magnets which will draw birds and animals to your property.

2 pm with Rich and Pam Fry ‘New Plant Intro’s for 2011’

Join with this husband – wife team, while they talk about the latest plant additions to the nursery for spring.

April 14 – Perrenials

3 pm with Crissy Dzielak   ‘Proven Perennials for the Mountain Gardener’

Meet our right-hand gal who will present her picks for the best perennials for use in our challenging and unpredictable area.  This is a fund-raising presentation at The Bulington Center, 95 Red Oak Trail in Hendersonville.   Pre-registration is required by phoning 698-6104.

April 16 –Wildflowers & Lake Joccassee Waterfalls Tour

‘Visit and view the rare, waterfalls from a pontoon boat.

Lunch is provided. Space is limited to 10 people. Pre-registration and non-refundable deposit is required. Email fry_nursery@yahoo.com for all the information and reservations.  A wonderful early Mother’s Day gift! (rain date April 17)
